Browser life simulator

A life simulator you can play in the browser

A free, text-first life simulator with one rule: you do not choose where you are born. The country is drawn from real birth statistics, and the life runs on that country's data.

What is a life simulator?

A life simulator follows one person from birth to death, year by year, and lets you make the decisions that come up: school, work, relationships, where to live, how much risk to take. It is less about winning and more about seeing how a life is shaped by the hand it is dealt.

How this one works

  1. A country is drawn by its share of annual births — not by population, and not by your choice.
  2. A family, a sex and a starting situation are drawn from that country's statistics.
  3. Each year brings an event or a decision. Choices shift the odds; they do not erase the starting point.
  4. Death is drawn from life-table mortality, not from a script.

A random life simulator, not a power fantasy

Most life simulators let you pick a country, a family or a difficulty. This one does not. The draw is weighted by births, so India comes up about once every six lives and China about once every fourteen. That constraint is the point: it is the closest a game gets to the accident of where you are born.

Built on real statistics

Birth shares, life expectancy and mortality come from UN World Population Prospects 2024 and UN IGME; income, schooling, urbanisation and health spending come from the World Bank, WHO and UNESCO. Every country has a page with 16 indicators and world ranks.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a life simulator or a text game?
Both. It is a text-first life simulator: the interface is text and numbers, but the model behind it uses real country statistics rather than a fixed script.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, no download, no payment.
How is it different from BitLife?
BitLife is an app with a huge hand-written event set. This is a browser game built around one constraint: the starting point is drawn from real birth statistics, and the life runs on real mortality and income data. Fewer jokes, more numbers.
Can I use it in a classroom?
Yes. It needs no accounts, no downloads and no chat. It is written for ages 15+ and contains death, illness and inequality at real rates, without graphic detail.
How long does a life take?
About 30 to 90 minutes. A year passes in roughly a minute, and you can pause or speed up.
